Talking About Stock Parts and Aftermarket Components

Hello, my name is Cody. Welcome to my site. I want to talk to you about the difference between stock parts and aftermarket components. For many new vehicles, it just makes sense to use the stock parts for maintenance and repairs. If you want to improve your vehicle’s performance, however, you will benefit from aftermarket components instead. Stock parts for older vehicles tend to fall out of production, which is where aftermarket components shine. I hope to provide you with all of the information you need to know when choosing between these options for your auto parts. Thanks for visiting.

A junk car is a vehicle that you no longer need and that doesn't seem valuable enough to turn into a dealership or try to sell to another third-party buyer. It is a vehicle that has seen better days and is no longer fit for the road.

When it comes to selling a junk car, the best thing you can do is work with a salvage yard. Seling a junk car can be easy if you know the necessary steps to take.

1. Clean Up Your Car

Before selling any car, even one that you deem to be a piece of junk, you will want to clean it up so that you can show off what value it has. Remove all your personal belongings from the inside of the car, and be sure to check all the cubbies and hidden compartments.

Then, vacuum the inside, and if it has a smell, use some fabric refresher on the vehicle. Wash the windows. Then, wash the outside of the car. Give some extra attention to cleaning the wheels. Pop opens the hood and cleans off the engine as well.

Make your car looks as good as possible. This will help the salvage yard better identify the parts of your vehicle that can be resold, which is where the value of your car is for them.

2. Get Vehicle Information Together

Next, you are going to want to gather relevant vehicle information. Just because your vehicle is a piece of junk doesn't mean that you can sell it without the proper paperwork. You will need the title, which you will sign over to the buyer. You should also have a copy of the vehicle registration, which you are going to sign over to the buyer in most states.

Additionally, it is always smart to use a bill of sale that provides for an as-is sale.

3. Find a Salvage Dealer

Now it is time to find a salvage dealer to sell your "junk" car for cash. You will want to look for a licensed salvage dealer to work with. You want to find one that is licensed and insured and will work with you on executing a professional business transaction.

Check customer reviews online and find a junk car buyer who has a good experience. Look for reviews that talk about prompt payment and transfer of the title and for reviews that mention a dealer who is willing to pick up the vehicle if it is not drivable.

4. Get a Quote

Just because you don't want yourself or anyone else driving your vehicle down the road anymore doesn't mean that your car has no value. For example, if any of the body panels are in good condition, they may be able to be resold or scraped for their metal value.

If you replaced the alternator two years ago, that could be pulled out and resold. Or if the rims are in good condition, that could have value.

Some parts may have value, and then regardless, the metal in your vehicle has value. Get a quote or two to figure out what value your vehicle holds.

5. Selling Your Vehicle

When it comes to selling your vehicle, if it can't be driven, you will want to arrange transportation with the seller. Determine who will pay for the tow before selling the vehicle. Then, complete the paperwork, including transferring the title and the bill of sales. Then, get paid for your vehicle when you transfer the property to them.

Remember, you should also contact your Department of Motor Vehicle or Secretary of State office and tell them that you sold your vehicle. Then, contact your insurance company, and let them know about the sale as well. Then, enjoy the cash you get for your car and the peace of mind that it is no longer your problem to deal with.
